The Liberal Catholic Church Grail Community is an independent esoteric church, one of the Liberal Catholic Church family and part of the one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
It is not Roman Catholic but one of several ‘Catholic’ Churches in the world independent of Rome, such as the Orthodox, Coptic, Old Catholic etc.
The LCC offers many unique and specific features in its’ particular contribution to esoteric Christianity.
Some aspects that have been found particularly helpful include freedom of thought; each persons journey is unique and as you grow spiritually so does your understanding of truth. Ritual worship is an act of sacramental mysticism. Through the beautiful inspirational words of the Eucharist and other services, we send light into the world and in the process we are transformed ourselves, often experiencing a sense of peace and inspiration. Incense and candles aid the work at the altar in the east.
Ancient wisdom has always been an inner or esoteric teaching leading mankind to find God within all religions, but not the exclusive possession of any. Openness to other religions is a natural consequence of understanding the essence of their teachings.
The Grail Community particularly emphasises teaching, healing and spiritual psychology in an atmosphere of caring yet transpersonal, open minded exploration together. It offers the seven historic sacraments of the Christian Church.
The Grail Community holds an annual retreat, often exploring the spiritual life through meditation and silence, in addition to regular services, seminars and workshops.
A correspondence course will be available from the 1st of February 2009 to offer spiritual seekers a greater understanding of esoteric Christianity.
‘The Grail’ magazine is published twice a year and contains archive and original articles, poems, news and quotations relating to the spiritual life.
Service to humanity is also a part of the work of The Grail Community, fundraising is done throughout the year and a substantial sum is then sent to an orphanage in Sri Lanka which has been supported by The Grail Community for many years.
